The accuracy, rigidity, and service life of machine tools are the most important concerns for machine tool manufacturers. As an important transmission component in machine tools, the guide provides a reliable foundation for the functionality of the machine tool.

The guide for CNC machine tools has higher requirements compared to that of ordinary machine tools. It should not cause vibration during high-speed feed and should not exhibit crawling phenomenon during low-speed feed. It should also have high sensitivity, good wear resistance, and be able to work continuously under long-term heavy loads while maintaining good accuracy. The widely used guides for machine tools include roller guides, ball guides, steel-inserted guides, and sliding guides.

1、Ball guides: Suitable for high-speed motion with low friction coefficient and high sensitivity, meeting the working requirements of moving parts. However, after long working hours, the steel balls will start to wear, resulting in a decrease in the initial preload on the steel balls and a decrease in the motion accuracy of the machine tool. To maintain the initial accuracy, the guide support needs to be replaced, and even the guide itself may need to be replaced.

2、Roller guides: The advantages of roller guides include large contact area, high load-bearing capacity, and high sensitivity. Due to its responsiveness to CNC instructions and high load-bearing capacity, roller guide systems can withstand high-speed operation, improving the performance of machine tools.

3、Steel-inserted guides: Made of steel, hardened and ground. The steel-inserted guide is fixed on the machine tool bed or the scraped mating surface of the column using screws or adhesives, ensuring the guide achieves optimal flatness. This form is convenient and simple for maintenance and replacement, making it popular among maintenance workers.

4、Sliding guides: This is a development of traditional guides, which primarily involves changes in the sliding elements and guide forms. The distinguishing feature of sliding guides is the use of a medium between the guide and the sliding element. The choice of medium varies, with commonly used options being hydrostatic guides using oil as the medium and aerostatic guides using air pressure.

The guide is one of the precision components of machine tools, and regular inspection and maintenance are key to ensuring its service life.If you have any other questions or purchasing needs, please feel free to contact us for consultation!
